If not, you're missing out on thousands of prospects. What exactly is an online MLM business? That means you have taken your MLM business online... onto the Internet.
You've probably heard the expression, "this ain't your daddy's MLM." This is partly what that means... the marketing methods used in the early days of network marketing are just not effective for the majority of MLM'ers.
To achieve the maximum success with your MLM business, you should use modern marketing methods. The most revolutionary marketing development in this decade is the Internet.
If you're not utilizing the Internet in your business, then you're leaving money on the table. Why? Because marketing your MLM business online gives you access to thousands of prospects all over, not just people in your local geographic area.
Why limit yourself to people you meet in the grocery store checkout line or at your local Chamber of Commerce mixers? Why not have access to the thousands of hungry prospects that are online searching for an MLM business?
So how exactly do you do online MLM marketing? I recommend that you start with a blog. And what's a blog? The definition of a blog is a web log, sort of an online journal.
So you need to first choose your blogging platform, the software you will use to create your blog. There are many platforms available; many are free or low-cost at most.
If you're not familiar with blogging, then ask around for a recommendation. An easy-to-use and intuitive user-interface can save you hours of frustration. You don't want to spend your time reading the Help tutorials and struggling to implement something you'd like to do. You want to spend your time blogging.
So what exactly do you blog about? There are 2 strategies: personal and business. Some folks use their blog as an informal website and use it to sell their MLM business opportunity online. Others recommend that you keep your blog personal... a safe, "no selling" zone.
I prefer the latter because if your blog is personal, then you can send anyone and everyone to visit your blog without having them feel like you're hounding them about your network marketing business.
Another benefit of keeping your blog personal is then it's a place where your downline can get to know you better. Remember that just because you're doing online MLM marketing doesn't mean relationships no longer matter.
What do you blog about? Blog about your personal interests and hobbies. I like to dance so I posted links to some studies that show a correlation between social dancing and maintaining good mental health. I also like to garden so I'm posting some pictures of my garden showing the changes through the seasons.
And all of your blog posts don't have to be "journals," or editorial reviews and comments authored by you. I like Jack Canfield, one of the teachers from "The Secret" movie. I have subscribed to Jack's newsletter and I post articles from him on my blog.
You can also write a review about a movie you've recently seen or a book you've recently read. Be creative. You can think of your blog as like an online scrapbook of all the things you enjoy... including your family. Oh, and be sure to post pictures of you and your family.
How do you drive traffic to your blog? Include the url to your blog under your signature in every email that you write. You can also email friends and family when you've posted something great, like new family photos, and invite them to check out your blog.
And the next time you receive a great joke, editorial or YouTube video through email... instead of simply forwarding that email, post it on your blog. And then forward an email with a link to that blog page. Then you'll be sending traffic to your blog to read the joke. And that traffic could continue for years as that email continues to get forwarded.
But how does blogging help my online MLM? You can have a page on your blog that talks about your network marketing business. This page should have an informative tone... "just FYI"... and no selling.
This allows your visitors to self-select. Interested prospects will contact you if they want to know more. So be sure to have a Contact Me page on your blog.
